5th Grade Science
Students will begin studying Earth and Space. Students will be able to recognize patterns in the natural world and among the Sun, Earth, and Moon System. Students will be able to demonstrate that Earth rotates on its axis once approximately every 24 hours causing the day/night cycle and the apparent movement of the Sun across the sky. Students will be able to identify and compare the physcial characteristics of the Sun, Earth, and Moon. Students will be able to list the planets in order starting from the Sun. Students will be able to identfiy Moon Phases.
Students will have a vocabulary quiz on Thursday over the following words.
