Friday is a student holiday!
Students will be able to classify matter based on physical properties including mass, magnetism, physical state, relative density, solubility in water, and the ability to conduct or insulate thermal energy or electrical energy. Students will be given vocabulary homework on Monday and it will be due on Thursday. Students may study for the Thursday's vocabulary quiz at the following link. quizlet.com/_3psn54 The words are as follows: Matter - anything that has mass and takes up space Weight - measurement of the effect of gravity on an object's mass Mass - the amount of matter in a substance Solid - a state of matter that has a fixed shape and volume Liquid - a state of matter that can change shape, but has a fixed volume Gas - a state of matter that changes volume and shape Volume - the amount of space something takes up Relative Density - whether something sinks or floats in water Students will begin working on Stemscopes this week. They will receive their log ins and assignments to complete over the course of the week. This week their assignments will be due Thursday by 3:15PM.
