5th Grade Science
Students will begin Earth Science as they are introduced to Weathering, Erosion, and Deposition.
Students will have a quiz over Changes to the Earth's Surface Vocabulary on Thursday over the words below.
Landform- a natural structure on Earth's surface
Weathering- the breaking down of rock on Earth's surface
Deposition- the dropping off of sediments in a new place
Earthquake- the shaking of Earth's crust
Erosion- the movement of sediments
Sediment-small piece of weathered rock
Canyon-a steep valley formed by weathering and erosion, usually by water
Glacier- a huge piece of ice
Delta- Triangle shaped area of sediment at the end of a river
